For the little history, this house was first built in 1854, and was known as "Tyersall House". In 1860, a Malay sultan took over the property and the house was demolished. The new house, Istana Woodneuk ("istana" means "palace" in Malay) was built in 1890 and completed 2 years later. In 1905, it was badly burnt because of faulty electrical wiring. This house has been abandoned since 1907.

The Bath House

The Bath House

Part of Frederik 2.’s original Frederiksborg Castle, the little Bath House remains to this day. It was built in the 1580’s and the richly decorated sandstone portal with fluted, ionic columns, the bases and shafts still bear lion's masks and support a shield with the builder's motto: "Mein Hoffnung zu Gott allein". As the name indicates, the building served as a bathroom, where the ground floor contained a tin-lined room fitted for the purpose. It existed until 1794, when the tin was removed and sold.

The building was also used as a small pleasure pavilion and contained a kitchen and several bedrooms. The Bath House’s interior was refurbished by Frederik 7. in 1858. The main room is the dining room situated in the centre of the building on the first floor. In the dining room, the sculptor A.M. Jahn created one of his most diverting stucco ceilings, with a myriad of different animals balancing on fruit garlands.

The Bath House is used by Her Majesty The Queen for luncheon parties. The Bath House is not open to the public.

Vintage Fisher Price "Play Family House"

Vintage Fisher Price "Play Family House" by British American.
I'm so excited to have found this. A 1969 Fisher Price Little People house. I had this as a child - though it had a different exterior design. A few weeks ago I had a dream that I found this at a yard sale and now I have.

I was out this morning, on my way to a charity rummage sale - turned out I was a week too early. I spotted a yard sale on the way and stopped by on the way home. The sign said "Day care going out of business". I found the house tucked away in a corner.

Had a very brief fling with Explore, reaching #289. Here's the scout proof.
